Q. What do I need to do to get my G1 license?
A. Basically you need to provide proof of residency, citizenship and age. You need to pay a sum of money and write a knowledge test, pass a physical test (vision) and finally serve learning time and pass a physical test (2). For more information visit the Drive Test Website by clicking HERE.

Q. Why should I take driver’s education? Why should I choose AAPEX?
A. The most basic reasons to take a Driver’s Education course include; learning defensive driving skills, learning practical skills, learning the laws and rules of the road, being introduced to driving by a professional driving instructor. You may also benefit from Driver's Education by learning tips to pass your road test, lowering insurance, and reducing your waiting period for your road test from 12 months to 8 months. AAPEX is an award winning driving school, with dedicated and caring in-car instructors, in-class teachers and support staff. AAPEX provides 28 hours of in-class instruction (Ministry standard is 25 hours) and meets or exceeds Ministry standards in all other aspects of driver’s education. We are a close-knit family of employees who care about our student's skill behind the wheel, attitude on the road, understanding of traffic safety and in fact their daily lives (as evidenced by the many school bursaries awarded and sport teams AAPEX sponsors). Very simply, we care what ourstudents are doing; and it shows. We have on-site staff available to meet your needs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday's from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday's from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Q. How much does AAPEX save me on my insurance?
A. That depends on the company you deal with; you can get a rough estimate of what you will be paying by visiting the Insurance Hotline website to test out the rates. (www.insurancehotline.com)

Q. Why does Aapex have 28 classroom hours; when other schools only have 25?
A. Learning to drive defensively and safely is a never-ending art, we want to send you out on the road with as much information as possible.

Q. I just got my G1, should I sign up for AAPEX now?
A.
You have a couple options; sign up and take the in-class now, hold off with your in-car until closer to your 8 mos. mark. Sign up now, take both in-class and in-car, get the course done with. Sign up later and complete the whole course (driving/in-class) closer to your available test date. Please speak with our office staff about the arrangement that works for you. Your choice will depend on whether your family wishes to work with you on the basics and then let the professional instructor continue your education; or if you prefer to start out in the car with a professional instructor and then practise the skills you’ve learned with your parents.
