You will be asked to produce an S.S.C. when:

• Registering a motor vehicle in Ontario that was previously registered in another province or country.

• Changing the status of a vehicle from unfit to fit.

Safety Standards Certificate Inspection Items for Passenger Vehicles
A Safety Standard Certificate is not a warranty on the condition of the vehicle.

Components checked include: body and frame, brake system, seats and belts, horn, gas pedal, mirrors, windshield, windows, wipers, washer system and defrost, light systems, steering systems, suspension systems, fuel systems.

Your car should pass if:
• It is generally sound in body and electrical components and you can operate the car with a reasonable expectation of safety.

• Or your car could pass if you have a mechanic friend who is willing to sell you a "fake safety".

• Please be advised that Aapex doesn't recommend the purchase of these faked documents, but as a service to our clients we wish to make you aware of their existence.

• The "fake safety" may have the most impact upon you if you are considering the purchase of a vehicle due to its achievement of a safety certificate. Since fake safeties exist and since legitimate safety certificates don't validate engine soundness or performance, a safety is not a satisfactory reason to purchase a specific vehicle.

• Have a mechanic you trust or that comes recommended check the vehicle for potential problems.

In this case, a penny spent will be many dollars saved!
